… It’s What We’re About
Hello and welcome!
The concept of Be Ready Every Day was born out of discussions with my son, Phillip, after a series of events that reminded me how important it is, for each of us, to think about readiness in a different way.
But more on that elsewhere!
For many, the terms readiness, and preparedness, conjure up visions of hardcore conspiracy theorists, dressed in camouflage, peeking out of underground bunkers.
That’s not what this site is about. Not even close. That’s why we feel this site, and the work we do is important. Because Everyone needs to know what being Ready really means and how to achieve a better level of readiness Every Day.
We’re not going to talk about Armageddon or the Zombie Apocalypse. Okay, we will, but mostly just for fun!
We will work really hard to give you good, useful insights and information.
We’ll explain, with anecdotes, examples, and facts, using real-life and real-world examples, why it is important to “see” and pay attention to the world around you. To plan for the possibilities. To Be Ready for things to not go as planned.
Every Day. In your regular, daily life.
About Your Host
Hello, my name is Jeff “Sully” Sullivan. I am a retired United States Air Force NCO, life-long educator, speaker, and readiness enthusiast.
As a military member, I learned that, depending on my duties and the mission, I needed certain tools. I had to maintain a certain level of vigilance. I needed to Be Ready to work with, adapt to, and capitalize on my circumstances.
When I retired from the U.S. Air Force, I spent some time working in security. In that role, there were also certain tools, and mindsets, that had to be considered in order to get the job done.
Then I started my own business and began working from home.
Over time, I became complacent. Comfortable. I would routinely leave the house with just my keys and wallet, without any thought at all to where I was going, what my mission was, or what I may encounter.
Thankfully, a series of small, insignificant events in a very short period of time reminded me how important it is to Be Ready no matter how simple the task or short the errand may be.
Out of that time was born this website, and my current mission. To help others develop and maintain a readiness mindset. To teach the everyday person how to Be Ready, Every Day.
